Landlords are required by law to have a safety inspection carried out annually on rental property's
As part of the gas inspection our engineers will carry out a pressure test on your gas meter, which will check all of the gas pipework in your house for even the smallest of gas leaks.
Your boiler and its primary heat exchanger will be inspected and if necessary cleaned.
The burner pressure will be checked at the appliance to ensure it is burning the correct amount of gas.
The automatic gas cut off switch at any gas boiler will be checked for correct operation, this device is commonly known to gas engineers as the FSD (Flame Supervision Device)
Older open flued gas appliances will be checked for flue flow and for signs of fumes spillage with smoke bombs and matches to track to path of gases as they leave your gas appliance.
After all work is complete the engineer will issue you with 2 copies of the gas safety certificate.
£50 is payable to the engineer in cash who will issue you with a reciept
